5 Ways to Actually RELAX
We all live hectic lives and sometimes it is hard to achieve a balanced lifestyle. Long working hours, busy family lives and lack of alone time can lead to stress and reduce emotional wellbeing.
We are passionate about seeking ways to increase happiness and wellbeing. The tips below will give you some ideas of ways to truly relax while improving your overall balance and happiness.
There are many momentary ways to relax - such as sitting on the couch eating fatty food and having a few extra glasses of wine - but often such practices might lead to tiredness, sense of un-accomplishment, guilt and overall dissatisfaction. It's important to focus on practices that will have long term effect.
1- Discipline.
Whaaaa? Talking about discipline when I'm trying to relax?? I'm afraid so! When you are disciplined with your tasks and time you can actually make time for yourself to do anything you feel like. Read a book, watch a movie, have a long bath etc.
Plan your week in advance. Make sure you do at least 2 important things each day (aligned with your life goals). Do the hardest things first each day and get them out of the way. Stop procrastinating and just get things done. You will see that you will have a lot more time and mind space in the evening.

2- Build a nest egg
Okay, this is about relaxing and now you are talking about money?? Yes! It can be very hard to save money but as you become more disciplined with your time try to also increase your discipline with your money. It doesn't matter if you can only save a small percentage of each pay check. Just get started. You will see that when you have some money set aside for emergency - or as some call it "f word" money - you will feel more relaxed to make decisions and enjoy your free time.

3- Celebrate Achievements
It's important to acknowledge and celebrate our achievements. This will give you motivation to keep going. It can be achievement in any area of your life - saving a few extra dollars, completing a project, losing some weight. It will show you how far you've come and remind you that you can relax because everything will be okay.

4- Spend time in nature
It seems so simple but it's so powerful. Breathing fresh air and spending time in nature hits our "reset" button and makes us feel refreshed. Being in natural light also helps you body regulate its melatonin production which helps you get a good sleep at night.

5- Meditate/ Pray
Making time for quiet introspection is a powerful way to achieve calm and clarity. Meditating or praying will help you gain perspective and stay focused on your goals. Focusing on gratitude is a particularly powerful to increase happiness and wellbeing. It's amazing to notice all the things in our lives that we are grateful for.
